All employers operating in industries covered under Saskatchewan's legislation, who employ workers on a regular, casual or contractual basis, must
register and establish an account with the WCB. Exempted industries and occupations are listed in the Exclusion Regulations.
WCB coverage provides financial protection, medical treatment and rehabilitation services to workers and their dependents in cases of injury or death
arising out of, and in the course of, employment. These
benefits are funded by premiums collected
from employers by the WCB.
To register a business
In addition to coverage, registering ensures that your business is assessed in the proper industry classification. You can submit your registration
online or download a copy of the
Employer Registration form
to be mailed or faxed to Revenue & Employer Accounts.
Generally, you must register with the WCB if your firm:
- Works in an industry that is defined as mandatory under
The Act;
- Is incorporated and the directors are paid a regular, predetermined salary; or
- Comes from another province or country and meets the requirements under Saskatchewan legislation.
