15th Annual Compensation Institute Starts Today
Over 350 people are registered to attend the 15th Annual Saskatchewan Workers' Compensation Board (WCB) Compensation Institute which begins today. Participants will attend educational sessions focusing on workers’ compensation processes, the role the physician plays in return to work and more. This two-day educational event is free to registered participants.
Compensation Institute has been held each year since 1998. It is open to anyone who wants to learn more about the workers’ compensation system. This is the fourth year that it has been full. Participants are from 3 western provinces, Quebec, Yukon Territory, and the U.S.
"We continue to offer a high quality, no-cost learning event to participants," says Peter Federko, CEO of the WCB. "The agenda maintains the original two objectives we had in mind when we started Compensation Institute 15 years ago. We wanted to create an environment where participants could learn from their peers and the WCB. We hope participants will go back to their workplaces with the necessary tools and information they need to prevent workplace injuries and improve their return-to-work programs."
