The WCB recognizes that occasionally, workers and their dependants, employers and industry groups may have concerns about a
WCB decision. The Workers' Compensation Act, 1979 allows for an appeal process by which stakeholders can have these decisions reviewed.
The appeal process is easy to access, informal and non-confrontational. You don't need experience or financial resources to present
your case and, if you need help at any time during the process, you can authorize someone else to represent you.
Types of Appeals
Worker Appeals
An injured worker and dependant can appeal any issue related to an injury claim.
Employer Appeals
An employer can appeal decisions on injury claims, industry classification, experience rating and assessment.
Industry Association Appeals
An industry association can appeal a classification on behalf of an entire industry.
