Policy & Legislation
The Saskatchewan Workers' Compensation Board (WCB) is given express authority by The Workers' Compensation Act, 1979 to interpret and implement the intentions of the legislature within the context of the Act.
  • Corporate policies authorized by WCB represent the primary operating authority under the Act and provide guidelines for WCB staff. Thus, staff are specifically directed to use policy where applicable, rather than re-interpret the legislation.
  • Procedures are authorized by the Chief Executive Officer and are referenced within a policy document. Procedures specify how a given policy will be implemented and are accessible to external stakeholders on this website.
Policy & Procedure Manuals
  • Electronic Manuals
View the current Policy and Procedure Manual.

    Document format:
The Policy and Procedure Manuals are provided in PDF (portable document format) to ensure access regardless of the computer system or internet browser used. Stakeholders are advised to download, for free, Version 6 of Adobe Reader software from the Adobe website at www.adobe.com.

  • Hardcopy Manuals
The WCB does not provide paper copies of the Policy and Procedure Manuals. Stakeholders who wish to maintain paper manuals may print the documents from the website. Stakeholders may also view paper copies in the reception areas of the Regina and Saskatoon offices.
