We Are Accountable
Although the WCB operates at arm's length from the provincial government, we are accountable to our stakeholders: employers, workers, caregivers,
the public and the Government of Saskatchewan in a variety of ways, some of which are unique in Canada.
Employer Premium Consultation
This annual process is spread over several weeks each fall. Employer groups and associations are invited to discuss the WCB's projected premiums for the next year.
Committee of Review
The Lieutenant Governor, must by law appoint, once every fours years, a committee of review to determine, review and report on all matters concerning the Workers' Compensation Act, the regulations and the administration of this Act and the regulations. The 2006
Committee of Review was appointed in April and will hold public hearings in the fall.
Compensation Institute
The Comp Institute is unique in Canada. The annual public offers tools and tips on how to prevent workplace injuries, manage injuries when they occur, and enhance relationships with, and understanding of, the WCB. View
highlights.
Annual Meeting
In the fall of each year, the WCB hosts two Annual Meetings, one in Regina and one in Saskatoon. The Board and Executive members provide an overview of
policy decisions, financial operations of the WCB, and an update on new and continuing initiatives.
Annual Report
Section 175 of
the workers' Compensation Act, 1979
requires that the WCB submit an Annual Report to the Lieutenant Governor giving information about
our performance against our Strategic and Operational Plan and financial statements. We also publish an annual
Report to Stakeholders and a
Statistical Summary.
