WAGE-LOSS CALCULATION
Wage-loss benefits paid to injured workers are based on their total earnings from employment before deductions, commonly referred to as gross employment earnings. The current maximum gross employment earnings allowed under the Workers' Compensation Act is $55,000 per year or $1,057.69 per week.

Using current Canada Customs and Revenue guidelines, probable contributions for income tax, Canada Pension Plan and employment insurance are deducted from the gross employment earnings to determine the net employment earnings. Wage-loss benefits are based on 90% of those net employment earnings.
