The Saskatchewan Workers’ Compensation Institute Day 2 agenda features keynote luncheon speaker Ms. Shirley Hickman, co-founder of Threads of Life. Shirley will share her personal story of workplace tragedy and how it forever changed her family. Ms. Hickman is one of the co-founders of The Threads of Life organization is dedicated to helping Canadian families as they heal from workplace tragedy and life-altering illness.
The day also features Dylan Short, Managing Director of Redlands Group, providing an overview of CSA Z1001 OHS training standards and framework.
“Every year when planning Compensation Institute we focus on bringing in a range of best practices topics and speakers,” says Peter Federko, CEO of the WCB. “The feedback we receive is that participants appreciate this learning opportunity and they take back important tools to help them attain an injury-free workplace. This is also a great opportunity to improve communications with our stakeholders.”
Offered annually, Compensation Institute is a free event. It alternates between Regina and Saskatoon. More than 375 participants are attending this year’s event.
