Operational Details
This is a seasonal activity and is only undertaken through the winter months when lakes or rivers are frozen.
Special ice cutting power saws are used to cut ice of various thickness. The ice is then removed by cherry picker or loader, and placed upon a flatbed truck, or sled. Trucks or skidoos then transport the ice to a warehouse where it remains frozen, or may be taken directly to the customer. When delivery is part of the sale, it is part of the overall industry being conducted.
The ice is used in commercial applications.
