Over 500 participants registered for the second day of this 20th annual event, held at TCU Place in Saskatoon this year.

Today’s sessions offer diverse learning opportunities, with the emphasis on return to work. Speakers from Canada, the United States and Germany speak on various aspects of return-work-programs:

  • What you need to know to develop a return-to-work program
  • Return-to-work barriers: Identifying, mitigating and removing hidden obstacles
  • Evolution of return to work and disability management
  • Understand an international perspective on effective injury prevention and return to work

“For the last 20 years, Compensation Institute has been successful because it has provided employers, workers, care providers and safety professionals with relevant, timely information with focus on what participants are asking for,” says WCB’s CEO, Peter Federko. “Every year, we take attendee and customer feedback into account to provide useful and practical information on claims management, injury prevention and to improve our services for our customers.”

Other presentations on today’s agenda include:

  • How changes to Canadian marijuana legislation can affect your workplace
  • Understanding the legislative and practical role of the supervisor in occupational health management systems
  • How to prevent workplace violence
  • Steps to prevent serious workplace injuries and fatalities
  • A journey to safety – this plenary explains that lack of focus is the number one health and safety hazard we face and how engaged employees are five times less likely to have a safety-related incident.

Compensation Institute is open to the media.
