Description

Operational Details
Rendering is the manufacturing and cooking process used to convert raw materials into rendered finished products. Raw materials may include meat, bones, fish, fat and grease generated by meat and fish processors, farmers, butcher shops and restaurants.
Through a process of grinding, temperature and pressure, the raw materials are reduced and separated into fat, protein and water. Employers will use tools such as; grinders, cookers, presses, centrifuges, polishers, dryers, and mills to turn the raw material into rendered finished products. These finished products may include protein meals used in animal feed ingredients and fertilizers, refined fats used for industrial purposes, and ingredients for oleo-chemical producers and soap manufactures.
