Heavy duty truck repair shops specialize in repairing diesel engines and power trains of heavy haul vehicles.

Diesel mechanics are engaged in tearing down and rebuilding engines, replacing parts, overhauling transmissions, and rear ends, clutch assemblies, and generally performing maintenance. Cummins and Caterpillar engines are two common engine types used in heavy haul trucks and genuine parts are often used in their repair.
