Operational Details
Rural municipalities each year hire weed control inspectors who are given the task of inspecting abandoned properties, ditches, pastures, right-of-way, etc. to confirm the status of weeds in the subject areas. They prepare a report and strategies on how to eradicate the weed population.
The weed inspectors also handle individual complaints from those in the agricultural community and other individuals having problems with weeds.
The weed control program is undertaken by some municipalities on behalf of several municipalities or districts and it may encompass a wide geographical area. There may be anywhere from 1 to 7 inspectors hired by those involved in the program.
