This is a highly specialized service. However, it is a service any number of contractors in the mobile equipment or catwork industry could undertake.

The contractor hauls the septic tank to the worksite and excavates a hole for it to be buried in. A caterpillar tractor with a blade, backhoe operator, or excavator may be used to dig the hole for the tank. It must be placed in an area that has good drainage and not where it may contaminate the water supply.

Occasionally, septic tanks must be removed if they leak or deteriorate over time. The process for removal is the reverse of the installation.
